Solid Foundation
I was just thinking… isn’t it amazing to watch how some people can go through horrendous things and waiver a little in their faith, where others, the smallest things can cause them to totally fall apart? I’m sure we all have a theory on why that is, but today I’m thinking that it has something to do with our foundation. Yesterday, parts of Georgia was hit by heavy winds and rain, causing houses to be leveled and others severe damage. And then there were other homes that were able to withstand the elements. Why is that? Could be the material used when building; could be because of how and where the house was position on the slab, or it could be that it was just one of those things in life that had to happen…for whatever reason.
Working in construction for over 10 years, I know that typically it’s the foundation that determines the stability, strength and in some cases the value of a house/building. But for humans, I think it’s the attitude, integrity, character, and their faith that gives insight of what type of foundation their lives are built on. These foundational things help determine how others view you; whether you’ll be able to persevere through the storms of life; and in some cases the type of relationships you have with people or how you interact with them.
What do you think? Would you say there are different elements that make up our foundations?

I haven’t read blogs in days, because I’ve been concentrating on promoting the new book.
You are so right. Jesus said the house that’s built upon the rock will be able to withstand the storms. He is the only rock strong enough to protect us from being destroyed by the things that will come against us in life.
