I’m pleased to have author Chelle Ramsey return to my blog! Chelle is introducing us to her latest release , BEJEWELED: A BEAUTIFUL BLEND. Let’s check it out!
BEJEWELED: A BEAUTIFUL BLEND
Olivia believes she can have it all. A successful business and a loving husband. But his ex-wife is not ready to walk away, and continues to threaten any chance he and Olivia might have at happiness. When Olivia discovers she’s being stalked, secrets her mother took to the grave come creeping out.
The baby Nikki and Carlos have been planning is finally on the way. One problem…the paternity is at question, and Carlos is in the dark. To protect her secrets, Nikki’s ready to sever ties to both men that hold the key to her heart. But one half of her heart won’t let go, and the other half is willing to fight until the end. The birth of her child may lead to the death of her marriage.
One test has the power to determine the truth. One test will change their lives forever.
Deception will bring separation, and destiny will mend two broken hearts. And in the end, everyone must work together to create a beautiful blend.
Pamela Dunham was married to a successful investment banker and was used to getting whatever she wanted. Because Wesley had not given in to her enticements she desired him all the more.
She sat up allowing her towel to drop down as she faced him with her breasts aiming towards him. She grabbed his hand, massaging it in the palm and absently pulling it towards her as she looked him in the eye.
“Why do you play so hard to get?” she asked, placing his hand on her breast.
Catching him off guard with her brashness, Wesley jerked his hand away as if he had been burned.
“Mrs. D, I don’t play hard to get. I’ve just got mad respect for you. I could never treat you like some chick in the streets. Besides, you’re a married woman and I try not to get caught up in extramarital affairs. Too, much drama. You feel me? Married,” he stated in a deep, sensual voice.
“A married woman who’s lonely and wanting you very much. And if I’m not mistaken, you’re a lonely young man who is in need of a little company. Someone has broken your heart and I have the TLC you need. Wesley, I’m not trying to start a relationship with you,” she said, rubbing her hands up his back. “I’ve already got one of those. This thing between us would just be sex between friends…no strings attached. Don’t resist, Wesley. I tell you what, tonight when you get off, meet me at Kit-Cat’s,” she said, referring to a popular jazz bar in downtown Atlanta. “We can have drinks and if the mood hits, I will get us a room for the night. And we’ll see where the evening takes us. I don’t have anywhere to be. My husband’s out of town,” she offered.
Wesley let out a small laugh. His heart lay with Nikki, but one thing was clear. Her loyalties lie with her husband. She had made that much clear. He began to seriously consider Pamela Dunham’s offer. This being a “good boy” thing wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. He was a man with needs after all. And if she was willing…

As I prepare to gather with family and friends during this holiday season, I just wanted to take this time to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy!
I’m pleased to have author Té Russ on my blog today! Té is on a blog tour and stopped by to introduce us to her latest release, A WINTER RENDEZVOUS. Check it out!
Chrystal and Jackson meet while vacationing for the holidays and give into their attraction, sharing an incredible night together. Not expecting to see each other again, they are both shocked when they run into each other days later in the mostly unlikely place.
Both are hesitant to continue where they left off from their night in the mountains, but they quickly learn that they can’t seem to run from the inevitable. Their passion is hot enough to melt the snow outside, but can they overcome obstacles thrown in their path and create something that can last a lifetime?
“Careful Chrystal,” he warned. “Besides, according to you it doesn’t seem like there’s much to discuss anyway. Since it wasn’t that amazing.”
He noticed her tense as he threw her own words back at her. Exhaling an exasperated sigh, she turned and looked him directly in the face.
“I was pissed, Jackson. And you know why.”
He took step forward, but made sure not to get to close. “That I understand. What I don’t understand…”
He stopped. This was not the time nor the place for this discussion, but Chrystal pushed.
“What don’t you understand?”
He didn’t want to say it. Because it would reveal a part of him he generally didn’t let others see.
But she stood there, looking up at him with those big, beautiful brown eyes, and the words seemed to just fall out.
“What I don’t understand is why you would take off the way you did. Leaving nothing behind except for that sorry excuse for a note.”
Instantly, the remorse was evident on her face. “I freaked out,” she admitted. “I told you then that I’d never done anything like that before.”
He looked down, as she reached out and wrapped her hand around his forearm. “But, if I could go back…change things, I definitely would have stayed.”
Her soft touch, and the sincere tone in her voice, caused him to stifle a groan.
“You want me to break my rule, don’t you?”
Her face broke out into a naughty grin as she said, “It’s about to be a new year, maybe it’s time for a new rule.”
“Thirty seconds until midnight!”
They turned as someone shouted the announcement and people began counting down.
Jackson looked around, then grabbed Chrystal’s hand pulling her behind a large pillar, hiding them from everyone.
He looked down at her and noticed the heated, anticipated look in her eyes. He shook his head, but couldn’t stop himself from touching her. He touched his forehead to hers.
“This is a bad idea,” he said, as his hands caressed her hips.
“It wasn’t such a bad idea at the ski lodge,” she said pressing her body into his.
“Things were different at the ski lodge.”
She lifted her hands to his chest and he gripped her wrists.
He stared at her for several more seconds and she watched him, waiting for his next move.
He pushed her against the pillar, pinned her arms above her head, and crushed his mouth to hers, sucking her lip into his mouth.
“Happy New Year!”
The sounds around them were drowned out as he continued kissing her, plunging his tongue into her mouth. She moaned and kissed him back with the same amount of ferocity, if not more.
He knew he’d crossed a line that he’d vowed to never cross again. But he knew this moment was inevitable.
At the moment, he didn’t think about his past mistakes in a similar scenario. All he could think about was the woman pressing her body wantonly against him.
Consequences be damned.

About the Author:
Té Russ found solace in literary arts at an early age. Reading was a vehicle which broadened her horizons as writing became a form of self-expression. She began writing love stories as an adolescent to expel her youthful thoughts of love into words. Since then she has gone from writing stories and thoughts of love in journals to attending college for journalism and falling in love, which has allowed those youthful words of love to blossom into a series of stories in her romance novels. When she doesn’t have her nose pressed deeply into a book or her fingers flying across the keyboard, this Texas wife and mother of three can be found jumping out of airplanes, cheering her husband on at the top of her lungs at MMA fights, buzzing down the interstate on the back of motorcycles, or kayaking.

Please join me in welcoming back author Tia Kelly to my blog! Tia is on a blog tour and she’s introducing us to her latest release – LOVE IS. Check it out!
It took a once-in-a-lifetime bond to teach her what love is, and a once-in-a-lifetime betrayal to show her what love is not… Love Is. A different kind of love story.
Diane Collins had big plans for her life, and hoops star Warren Scott was not among them. He doesn’t want to be the face of the NBA, and she doesn’t care that he is. His reluctance to be part of the limelight disarms her and the two embark on an unlikely friendship that becomes an even unlikelier romance.
Soon, his life is her life – filled with VIP treatment, parties and luxuries beyond Diane’s wildest imagination. But Warren is harboring a secret, and once it’s revealed Diane’s decision to stay or go could change the very fabric of who she thought she was.
Excerpt from Love Is:
“Good afternoon, Mr. Scott. Good day, Miss Collins,” the man said as she exited the elevator, and once her bags were removed, she watched Warren slip money into the man’s hand. They both nodded before the doors closed.
“I’ve never been greeted like that before when visiting friends. You know how to leave quite an impression,” Diane said once they were alone. Seeing him unnerved her, and the tension that had mounted between them since the day she left Jamaica faded.
Before she could get a good look at the surroundings, Warren opened his arms and she walked into them. Relieved. Sighing silently as she snuggled into his warm, comforting embrace.
“Thanks for coming,” he murmured.
She lifted her head and caught the worry in his eyes.
He kissed the top of her head and reached for her bag. “How was your flight?”
“A little bumpy. Glad I’m back on the ground now.”
“Says the woman that once couldn’t sit still during a storm in the sky.”
She laughed, keeping her eyes trained on how he moved in his bare feet with athletic grace across the hardwood floors.
“You know I’ll never want to fly coach ever again now. I better get this job just to support the travel upgrades. Limos to and from airports. First-class flights. Exclusive resorts and staying in this building the rest of the week…”
“Should I book you a room at a motel near the airport instead?” he asked, setting her bag down in the middle of his living room.
She paused, taking in her surroundings. Furniture was sparse, but the space didn’t feel bare, just minimalist in a sophisticated way. Creams, beiges and grays against natural white oak floors and dramatic high ceilings made her feel at peace. She recognized the Boston Harbor just outside his penthouse windows. Walking toward the view of the water, she pressed her hands on the side of the steel frames encasing the floor-to-ceiling windows, taking it all in. “This is simply amazing.”
“Ever been to Boston before?”
Diane looked back at him and shook her head. “Never had a reason to visit, but always wanted to check it out. The accent alone always fascinated me.”
“Anyone comment on your Texas drawl?”
“A few,” she said with a smile.
“I made reservations for…” He trailed off when she turned around.
She’d only meant to give him her undivided attention because they still had a few issues to resolve between them, but the heat in his eyes made her breath catch. He took three long steps toward her before pressing her back against the glass, kissing her until they both forgot what they were talking about. Until Diane forgot why she’d wanted to keep herself emotionally distant from him in the first place.

A woman wants what a woman wants…
Quick-witted, sassy, construction worker, Jada (JJ) Jenkins, loves the finer things in life. She’d rather be in designer clothes and stilettos than sporting steel-toe boots and a hard hat. She hates getting dirty and worst, sweating. Jada’s ready to quit her job and marry a wealthy man who’s able to support her shopping addiction and her expensive taste. She’s not looking for love, only a comfortable lifestyle. What she doesn’t expect to find is a blue-eyed hunk with dimples and a disarming ability to throw her off her game.
For professional football player Zack Anderson, its love at first sight when he meets Jada. The fact that she’s a construction worker is even better. He wants a woman who’s not afraid to get down and dirty, someone who enjoys fishing, hiking and the great outdoors. He thinks he’s found that in Jada.
Before he loses his heart, will Zack discover that the last thing on this feisty steel-toe-boot-wearing-beauty’s mind is getting her hands dirty with love?
Have You Ever Been To The Romance Slam Jam?
The answer to that simple question is “no” more often than it should be. But those who do attend their first RSJ are typically surprised by what they find. I think we all go that first time expecting a reader & writer convention and instead find a family reunion and a family you didn’t even know they had! And usually all it takes is one time to start a lifetime of attendance.
After all, what’s better than spending a fun-filled weekend in a new city with people who share your passion for African American Romance?
There is something for everyone. During the day, craft shops for our authors to hone those skills, so they can continue bringing us the stories we love for years to come. And for the readers fun & games and plenty of opportunities to commune with our fellow readers and authors whose books we can’t get enough of. Then at night, food and music, karaoke and a river cruise as we jam the night away. For RSJ 2016 we’re trying to cram in so much fun and activity you will never have a dull moment!
There are free book exchanges, a movie screening and a vendor fair. There are city tours to both Motown Hitsville USA and the Wright Museum of African American History. There’s the annual big book sale and signing to with all the authors and of course, the Emma Awards where we honor the books we love. And all of this while staying in the elegant Royal Dearborn Hotel, the second largest hotel in Michigan, conveniently located within walking distance of Fairlane TownCenter, one of the best shopping malls in the area. So, I hope you will join us in Detroit in April 2016 as we are revving up the romance in the D!
