What readers are saying:

Definitely enjoyed reading Michael and Peyton’s story. I continue to fall further in love with Sharon Cooper’s “Jenkins Family” series. Hopefully it doesn’t end with book five. I would love to read more on Jerry and Nick to see how this family rolls from a male perspective. If you’ve read the first four and half books in this series, delay no longer to one click “Seducing the Boss Lady”. If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting the Jenkins clan, don’t sleep on this series any longer! Tina Y.

Drama, love, laugh and tears the author touched on each emotion and then some. The relationship between the two main characters was so life like and interesting. I love the end where the heroine said – you don’t need an elaborate wedding to have a happy marriage. Finding the person that makes you happy to be yourself and accepts you is one of the few things the author touched on. I definitely say this is a must read. Kindle Reader

You did it again. Even though I always have a good idea how the story will end, I absolutely love the story between the beginning and the end. It is a great and strong love story with a few twist and turns between. The characters are strong and independent, but they also have a side to them that shows they can be vulnerable and are afraid to show it. Thank you for a true love story and bring on the next one.  Jacqueline P.

New Release – Seducing the Boss Lady!

Hi All,

It’s official – release day for SEDUCING THE BOSS LADY!

SeducingBossLady 800x533

If you have read the first four books in the Jenkins Family Series, then I’m sure you remember Peyton Jenkins. She’s the oldest of the Jenkins’ girls, as well as an electrician and the senior manager of Jenkins & Sons Construction. Over the last couple of years, Peyton has stood by and watched her sister and cousins find the loves of their lives. Now it’s her turn. When Peyton first meets Michael Cutter, it’s not exactly love at first sight, but Michael is not a man who can be easily ignored.

Here’s their story.

Blurb:

Master electrician, Peyton Jenkins, is tired of being the responsible Jenkins’ girl. She’s ready to hand over the reins of the family business for a chance to live life and find love. However, fear of getting hurt again keeps her from letting down her guard. That is until her world intersects with bad-boy, Michael Cutter. Their sparks ignite a passion that can’t be denied.

Private investigator, Michael Cutter, has no intention of falling for another pretty face, not even someone as beautiful as Peyton. But her smokin’ hot body and sass can’t be ignored. She desires love and commitment, yet the sins of his father continue to haunt Michael, deterring him from pursuing any type of relationship other than a casual fling.

Will their pasts keep them from taking a chance on love? And will love be enough to heal old wounds?

Excerpt:

Minutes later, Michael handed Peyton the whipped cream and strawberries while he climbed the stairs with her luggage. He couldn’t wait to get her naked and into his bed, and not necessarily in that order.

Michael guided her down the hallway to his bedroom and pushed open the door. Setting her bags inside the room, he flipped the two switches against the wall. One bathed the room with dim lighting from the bedside table lamps. The other controlled the room’s audio system. The sound of Boney James melodic saxophone flowed softly around the room through the hidden speakers in the ceiling.

“Come on in and make yourself comfortable.”

Peyton set the props next to the lamp on the bedside table, closest to the door, and slowly glanced around the space. “This room is huge. Ohhh and you have a fireplace. I’ve always wanted one in my bedroom.” The awe in her voice had him sticking his chest out more, glad that she liked the space that was probably more masculine than she was accustomed to. His large, king sized bed made of a dark cherry wood, took up much of the space. A small reading area, comprised of his favorite wide chair and a round table, sat near the fireplace.

“I’ll get us a fire going and warm it up in here,” Michael said when Peyton stepped away from the fireplace and roamed around the bedroom, studying the artwork he had on the walls. Michael bent to place a log in the fireplace.

A slight tremble of his hands when he added the log, had him chuckling to himself. This was the first time he’d ever brought a woman to his home, and never had one shared his bed. Not even Octavia. He preferred to go to a woman’s place not only because of Michaela but because he didn’t want any woman getting too comfortable in his space. But Peyton wasn’t just any woman. He knew there was something special about her from the moment they met.

Michael pulled the flimsy fireplace screen together and stood. “If you want, you ca…” His words lodged inside of his throat when he turned to find Peyton stretched out on his bed in the skimpiest bra and panty set he’d ever seen on a woman.

“You said to make myself comfortable.” The sexy purr of her voice had him lifting his T-shirt over his head and tossing it to the floor.

“I did, didn’t I?”

A Sneak Peek and Updates

Hi All!

I have a lot to celebrate these days! Can you believe that it’s been four years since I published my first book? I have to say – it’s been an awesome four years! When I started my writing journey, I had no idea it would be this rewarding. During this time, I have established great friendships with some amazing authors and don’t even get me started talking about my readers – they ROCK!

But before I tell you what’s been going on lately (and what’s coming), let me give you a sneak peek at my next release – SEDUCING THE BOSS LADY – book 5 of the Jenkins Family Series. Many of you probably remember Peyton “PJ” Jenkins. She’s an electrician and also the senior manager of Jenkins & Sons Construction. Well, Peyton has finally found love -again, unexpectedly, of course. Here’s a sneak peek:

Excerpt:

Peyton glanced at the boarding pass in her hand to confirm her row and seat. 4A.

Annoyance jockeyed within her. Of course, someone would be sitting in 4A because that’s the way her morning had been going. First getting to the office at three and losing track of time, then running for her first flight only to be told once she was on the plane that it was delayed. Then landing in Miami thirty minutes late and having to run through yet another airport.

“Excuse me. You’re in my seat,” Peyton said to the man who was on his cell phone, papers and a file folder spread across the seat near the window as if he owned the whole row, using it as his office. “Excuse me,” she said a little louder when he ignored her.

Finally, he glanced up.

Peyton’s breath caught, and she swallowed hard. Hypnotic, light-brown, almost hazel-colored eyes met hers and she struggled to keep her mouth from hanging open. The man’s eyes, such a startling contrast against his tawny brown skin, stood out like a beacon in the night, guiding a lost soul home.

His intense gaze started at her slicked back hair and did a leisure crawl down her body, taking in every inch of her until he reached her black pumps. Suddenly, Peyton wished she had dressed a little sexier. Those gorgeous eyes met hers again, and her pulse kicked up. He didn’t speak, didn’t smile, nothing. But it was as if a magnetic force passed between them, his scrutiny pulling her in as he studied her face and she studied his.

Peyton’s throat went dry as she stood motionless.

“I’m sorry, ma’am, but we need you to take your seat.” The flight attendant slammed closed the bin above Peyton’s head.

Poof. The spell was broken.

“And sir, I’m going to have to ask you to put your cell phone away as we prepare for takeoff.”

Peyton straightened and finally found her voice again. “You’re in my seat.”

RSJ Conference

This year I had the pleasure of traveling to Detroit, Michigan for the Romance Slam Jam conference. As usual, it was great hanging out with fellow authors and having readers come up to me and discuss my books – that never gets old! Like I said, my readers ROCK! They make me want to keep writing!

The weekend was filled with laughs and learning opportunities. I think my favorite event (besides Romancing Family Feud) was Friday night’s Riverboat Dinner & Cruise. The organizers laid the night out perfectly. There was great food, dancing, giveaways and A LOT of laughs…and cheering (like when author Deborah Mello’s mother won the dance contest)! It was nice to see authors and readers hanging out and having a good time together.

Next year, RSJ will be held in Los Angeles. Visit Rsjconvention.org for more information.

Future Projects & Book Series

I have a full schedule over the next few months. Now that the Jenkins Family Series is coming to an end, I have a couple of new series starting at the end of this year and early 2017. Jenkins & Sons Construction Series, as well as Atlanta’s Finest Series is coming soon. Both will be contemporary romance, but Atlanta’s Finest will have some suspense elements for those who like a little action (and drama) in their stories.

I’m also working on a fun project, coming at the end of this summer, with my good friends Candace Shaw and Delaney Diamond. I can’t wait to tell you more about this project – soon!

Paul thought he might be seeing things. His heart lurched in his chest when he saw Martina enter the coffee shop with a tall, built man. Relief flooded through him like a warm breeze when he realized they weren’t together. The idea of her with another man made him want to rip something apart.

She glanced around as if looking for someone and he wondered if maybe, just maybe, she was hoping to see him.

“Davion, let me call you back.” Paul disconnected the call without giving his cousin a chance to respond. Leaving his jacket and magazine at the table, he headed her way just as she stepped up to the counter.

“Good morning. What can I get for you?” the perky brunette behind the counter asked Martina.

Before Martina could give her order, Paul jumped in. “She’ll have a cranberry walnut muffin, steel cut oatmeal with brown sugar on the side, a fruit cup, and a venti caramel macchiato.”

“I can place my own or—”

“And I’ll have another black coffee and why don’t you throw in a slice of the coffee cake.”

Martina mumbled, but Paul couldn’t make out what she was saying. That was probably for the best. He had been on the receiving end of enough of her rants.

The brunette’s amused gaze darted between him and Martina. “Will there be anything else?”

“No that’s it.” Paul paid for the order and gently gripped Martina’s elbow to guide her to where they would pick up breakfast. Surprisingly she didn’t jerk out of his grasp when he didn’t release her right away.

“I hate when you do that,” she finally spoke. “I’m capable of ordering for myself. Besides, for all you know I might not have wanted what you ordered.”

“Hello, Martina.” Paul couldn’t stop the smile that found its way to his mouth. “So, were you going to order something different?”

She narrowed her eyes at him. “That’s beside the point!”

He chuckled. God, he missed this woman. Davion had asked the day before, why if Martina had such a big mouth, he’d want to get with her again. Paul knew that behind that big mouth of hers was a kind, generous, loving woman who would give her last dollar to someone in need.

“Number fifty-four,” the server called out.

Paul glanced at the receipt. Fifty-six.

“Why are you here anyway?” Martina pushed a long, wayward curl from her face only to have it return to the same spot.

He reached out before thinking and tucked it behind her ear, letting the back of his fingers glide down the softness of her cheek.

Interesting. She didn’t push his hand away. Maybe this was a new and gentler Martina Jenkins. He could get used to this calmer side of her.

She pulled away as if suddenly remembering that she had dubbed him the enemy.

“You no longer have the right to touch me.” She spoke through gritted teeth as she jabbed a finger into his chest.

This time, he laughed out loud.

Okay, so much for being gentler and kinder.

He grabbed hold of her finger and brought it to his lips.

“Ah, my sweet Martina. I was hoping you’d be here.”

New Release – Negotiating for Love!

Hi All!

It’s release day! Woo hoo! NEGOTIATING FOR LOVE, book 4 of the Jenkins Family Series is now available for your reading pleasure!

I’m sure you remember Martina Jenkins. She was first introduced in Still the Best Woman for the Job and has made an appearance in the first three books in the series. Martina is the “carpenter” in the family who loves giving everyone a hard time, but hates when anyone mentions the name – Paul Kendricks. Well, in NEGOTIATING FOR LOVE, Martina and Paul come face to face, and true to form, Martina’s mouth is in gear before her brain is engaged.

Check out their story!

Negotiating for love 2400x1600 web

Blurb:

Master carpenter, Martina “MJ” Jenkins, has built plenty of structures in her day, but none as sturdy as the walls she’s built around her heart. After crossing paths with a sexy U.S. Senator, with gorgeous brown eyes and a seductive smile, her resolve to stay unattached, crumbles. Martina is determined to steer clear, but the Senator’s kisses are too delicious to resist.

Third generation U.S. Senator, Paul Kendricks, faithfully represents his state and is loyal to the family’s political legacy. Still he yearns for a wife, children, and a new career far away from the political arena. Too bad the object of his desire is the one woman who wants nothing to do with commitment. But the sparks that fly between them can’t be ignored.

As Paul chips away at the wall Martina has built, can he convince her to put her fears aside and open her heart to love?

Excerpt:

Martina moved toward a pair of chairs and a small round table less than five feet away. She hated attending events where she had to get dressed up and sit quietly through a program. And when one of the speakers happened to be an enemy, it was like having to endure a root canal.

“Martina!”

She froze. Her breath lodged in her throat and hands fisted at her sides. That deep, baritone voice had always had an effect on her, even when she didn’t want it to and today was no different. Her pulse pounded an erratic cadence in her ears as a war raged within her on whether or not to turn around.

“You were brazen enough to spout out that nonsense in there, yet you’re not brave enough to look at me.”

The annoyance that consumed her only moments ago returned and she spun in the direction of the voice. But the smart retort dangling on the end of her tongue, dropped off. Instead, all she could do was stand cemented in place and stare at the man who stirred so many emotions within her.

Senator Paul Kendricks. Part of her wanted to pick up the small table near her leg and fling it at him. Whereas the other part of her was taken back to every one of her erotic dreams he had starred in.

She wanted to hate him. God, she wanted to hate him. She couldn’t. For reasons she didn’t want to revisit at the moment, she knew she would never hate him.

Martina took in his appearance, assessing his smooth dark skin, intense brown eyes, and those luscious lips that were tempting whether smiling or tilted down in a frown the way they were now.

Fury and sexual tension battled within her. On one hand, she wanted to wrap her hands around his thick neck and shake him. But on the other hand, she wanted to fall into him, feel his powerful arms wrapped around her while she tasted his sweet lips. She knew they were delicious because she’d tasted them before, on more than one occasion in fact.

Her gaze took in his perfectly groomed mustache. Normally he was clean-shaven, a preference for those in the Senate, but not a requirement. Though not today. Today the light sprinkle of scruff shadowing his cheek and chin, made him look even sexier than usual.

His broad shoulders and fit body were sheathed in a tailored suit that she knew cost more than she made in a week, made her remember. Made her remember how good-looking he was. Made her remember how being anywhere near him sent tingles through her body. And made her remember why seeing Paul up close and personal again wasn’t a good idea.

“Hi Senator Kendricks, I’m Peyton Jenkins. I’m so sorry for my cousin’s behavior. I assure you, she will not be returning to the event. She tends to speak before thinking sometimes and—”

“I’m well aware of Martina’s penchant for speaking her mind, even at the most inopportune times,” Paul said, his gaze never leaving Martina. “It’s good to see you again, Martina.”

The way her name slid out of his mouth sent a sweet thrill up her spine, licking her skin like a gentle breeze. She loathed that his voice still had the power to stop her in her tracks. What she hated, even more, was the desire radiating in his eyes. The same desire was coursing through her veins.

Ughhh, she growled silently, pissed that she was still attracted to the man.

“Too bad I can’t say the same about you.” Her throat tightened at the words that opposed what she truly felt inside. Her voice no longer carried the same annoyance from earlier. Instead, she sounded more breathy than she intended.

Damn him for looking so good.

“Hold up. Wait.” Peyton stood with her mouth hanging open, her gaze bouncing between them. “You two know each other?”

“As a matter of fact we do,” Paul volunteered. “Your cousin and I know each other very well.”

ALL YOU’LL EVER NEED

AllYou'llEverNeed 300x200

Many of you have asked about Jada Jenkins story, ALL YOU’LL EVER NEED, book 2 of the Jenkins Family series (contemporary romance). Right now, all I can say is that it’s coming – soon! I’m revamping it some (okay a lot) – tweaking the pacing, moving things around, etc. I want to make sure I get the story right! And for a moment there, it wasn’t turning out the way I’d envisioned. So after reading, re-reading, removing scenes, and adding scenes – I think it might be on the right track again.

With that said, the release date was originally August 27th. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen. I can tell you that it is on track to being an early September 2014 release. I’ll give you an exact date in a couple of weeks. Then you will finally have ALL YOU’LL EVER NEED in your hands (or on your ereader)!

In the meantime, here’s the blurb:

A New Look and More On The Jenkins Family

As I slowly gear up for the release of ALL YOU’LL EVER NEED, book 2 of the Jenkins Family Series, I figured I’d introduce to some and remind others about the Jenkins Family. But first, have you seen the new book cover for BEST WOMAN FOR THE JOB (short story prequel to STILL THE BEST WOMAN FOR THE JOB)? If not, here it is!

Best Woman 300x200

Like the last four books of the Jenkins Family Series, this book cover was created by Noelle at Selestiele Designs. So if you’re in need of a book cover designer, I highly recommend her! She’s fun to work with!

Now, let’s talk about the Jenkins Family Series.

Many of you know, but some might not, that in my other life (many, many years ago), I was a sheet metal worker. I worked in the trades (construction) for over ten years, and though it was an exciting line of work, where I learned a lot and work with some wonderful men, there were definitely some challenges of being a woman in a male dominate field. So I decided to bring out some of those challenges (and laughs) in the Jenkins Family Series.

Also in my other life (numerous years ago), I ran our family business (one of my brothers oversees it now). Our family is not as large as the Jenkins Family, but we grew up with strong family values, understanding the importance of loyalty not only to the family, but to the family business. And like you’ll see in the Jenkins Family Series, maintaining those values are not always easy – but the love of a strong family will get you through some tough times. As you’ll see in the Jenkins Family Series.

Here’s a little backstory about the Jenkins:

Steven Jenkins, the patriarch of the Jenkins Family, and founder of Jenkins and Sons Construction wants what every entrepreneur head of the family wants – for his children to continue to run the family business long after he’s dead and gone. None of his four sons and three daughters are interested in taking over the reins. It’s not until his oldest granddaughter, Peyton Jenkins, shows an interest that his hope is renewed.

Now its 16 years later, Steven is happily retired, and business is better than ever – thanks to five of his amazing granddaughters. Sweet, levelheaded PEYTON (PJ) JENKINS is an electrician, and the senior construction manager for Jenkins and Sons Construction; and MARTINA (MJ) JENKINS, is a carpenter and Steven’s most challenging grandchild. TONI (TJ) JENKINS, a master plumber, is his favorite granddaughter – though he’ll never admit it; and then there’s CHRISTINA (CJ) JENKINS, the shy one in the group who is a painter, but refers to herself as an artist. Last, but not least, is JADA (JJ) JENKINS the youngest and the most spirited of the bunch. Steven still hasn’t been able to figure her out, but he has to admit, she’s a darn good sheet metal worker.

Now is a great time to get caught up in the series, if you’re not already!
