Can a man and a woman be best friends without somebody catching feelings?
Travis Barber and Sade Styles are best friends of the opposite sex. Despite what everyone thinks, they are not getting busy…yet.
Co-owners of a popular barbershop/salon in named CoEd, Travis and Sade spend the bulk of their days together. But when Sade’s apartment lease runs out and Travis offers her the spare bedroom of his newly built house, will they end up sharing more than just the utilities?
This witty, fast-paced romance seeks to answer the question: can a man and a woman be best friends without crossing that fine line into the land of lovers. Best case scenario, nothing happens. Worst case scenario, they get to know each other a little too well and end up hating each other!
Are Travis and Sade making the best move for their friendship?
It was only a matter of time before Sade and I bumped uglies. The stars were lined up too perfectly for it not to happen. The air was too warm and sticky for us not to be hot and bothered. Lalah Hathaway was singing too good; hitting those low notes and high notes too right for us to not be affected. And Sade was wearing that black dress too well for me not to be nigh animalistic. A part of me laughed at the way I felt. Like Cookie Monster from Sesame Street when he tried to kick his cookie habit and he just couldn’t take it anymore. “Me must have cookie! NomNomNomNomNom.” In my mind, I’m chomping on that cookie and crumbs are flying everywhere.
Lalah was singing Forever, For Always, For Love. Sade and I were standing right in front of the stage. Lalah was looking good and all but that night, I only had eyes for Sade Styles, my poor little helpless cookie. She had no idea what she was in for. And she wasn’t making things better, the way she allowed me to drape my arms around her. And that dress? My goodness, that dress! It was form fitting and Sade’s form was hitting on all cylinders. The back of the dress…let me back up a minute…there was no back of the dress. It was only Sade’s skin. It’s a shame that all I could think about was sinking my teeth into her flesh. I tells ya! I was going to make Cookie Monster proud tonight.
Where was I? Yes, the dress. It cupped her backside! Did you hear what I said? The dress cupped her bottom so sweetly that I got weak in the knees when she walked out of the bathroom with it on earlier that evening. And she had the nerve to turn around, wiggle her hips and say, “What do you think?” Sade, I thought, you don’t wanna know what I’m thinking right now.
“What do you think about the dress?” she asked again when I didn’t reply immediately.
You see, it’s hard to talk when a cat has your tongue. I said something; I don’t even remember what it was. Whatever it was, it made her laugh.
“Boy, you are too silly. Let’s go.”
I was watching her walk in front of me, watching her turn around and smile as I lagged behind.
“Something wrong with your leg?” she asked. “Why are you walking like that?”
Well, Sade, I am extremely aroused right now. And I’m trying to situate myself without you noticing. “Must be a Charley horse,” I lied.
“You need me to rub your leg?”
Come on, man! You’re playing dirty now.
“Nah, I’m good.”
She paused, turned around and said, “Are you sure?”
Let me stop right here and tell you about how Sade smelled at that point in time. It was something sweet, something devious. The perfume was actually visible to me, surrounding her like a beautiful cloud. A hand formed from that cloud and its cloudy arm extended toward my nose. Tickled it. Gently caressed my chin. I swear the cloud asked me if I wanted Sade. I nodded my head yes.
“So you do want me to rub your leg?” she asked.
“No!” If she touched me right now…
“Okay,” she said as she turned around slowly. “Maybe later?”
I shook my leg. Situated myself. This was going to be a long evening.

James Fant is an award winning author who lives in Charleston, SC with his lovely wife and two hilarious children. When he’s not reading everything from business management to mysteries or “entertaining” his family with piano solos and spoken word, James writes inspirational romance and suspense that warms the heart and hopefully makes readers laugh—in public.
Cindy Skaggs is on a blog tour from December 12-23rd and I’m one of her stops! She’s introducing her latest release – UNFORGETTABLE, and she’s doing a giveaway! But before I tell you about the giveaway, here’s a little peek at UNFORGETTABLE.
Vicki Calvetti made it out of the mob—or so she hoped. But when the old family hitman, the FBI, the Justice Department, and a smoking hot man from her past crash land on her doorstep, she learns she’s not quite done.
An undercover cop chasing revenge, Blake Reilly gets the shock of his life when Vicki walks back into his life and into his club full of more drug dealers than a pharmaceutical convention.
Catching up doesn’t take long, and their undeniable chemistry is full-speed-ahead until someone ends up dead, putting both their lives at risk unless Vicki can remember the secrets she paid to forget.
He looked… Damn fine. Black leather jacket covered muscles she could only imagine and his trousers showed off an ass so fine it could grace an underwear ad. What was the question? “I’m sorry?”
“You try to run, darlin’, I’ll hunt.” His eyes glittered. “And I like the chase.”
Her pulse jumped for all the wrong reasons. The thrill of the hunt was something she understood. Enjoyed on multiple occasions, but the challenge in his tone begged for a response. “I’m not going anywhere. With you.”
She walked to him with a swing to her hips and a sassy smile on her lips. When she got to him, she pressed a finger to his oh-so-firm chest. Her fingers itched to explore all his taut flesh. The man obviously worked out. “Make me.”
“Challenge accepted.” The bangles on her wrist jangled as he grabbed her wrist and pulled her close. “You wanna play?”
“Said the spider to the fly.”
He bent low, slow, torturing them both as their breath mingled. When he dropped—finally, finally—it was a slow glide as he brushed his lips across hers, relearning the feel of her, letting her rediscover him. Firm lips tempted as they slanted across hers, moved across her cheeks, leaving a trail of fire to her jawline. Her breath hitched when the hands at her hips pulled her close. The warmth of his hard body was the dream she tried to forget, but couldn’t. She wanted hard and commanding, something to dull her mind, but he moved slow, tangling lips and tongues.
This Blake was controlled where the boy had raced to the main event.
The years and the hurt and the world disappeared under his gentle assault. She drank him in, his breath, his tongue, the press of his lips. She gave herself to it, in anger for the lost years, the lost— Everything.
Lifting to her toes, she took her frustration out on him, forced the hard need into her kiss.
“Jesus,” he muttered. He nibbled along her jaw and down the side of her neck.
The pleasure hurt, the need like a fist in her chest. She struggled, pulled against his grip, but he held firm with one hand while the other swept her backside and lifted her close. The restriction of her hand trapped between them sent a burst of panic through her. She shoved against his chest.
“Nice try, darlin’,” he whispered as he bit her earlobe, “But you wanted to play.”

About the author:
Cindy grew up on stories of mob bosses, horse thieves, cold-blooded killers, and the last honest man. Most of those stories were even true. She has ten siblings, some of whom are older than her mother, has nieces and nephews older than her, and once went to a horse auction with John Wayne. Well, with him in the sense that he was there, and she was also… there. She was the munchkin in line for his autograph with tangled hair and bruised knees that liked to dance on her daddy’s dusty cowboy boots and listen to his tall tales.
With her love of storytelling and heroes, it’s no wonder she turned to books and stories after her father died. She skipped most of the eighth grade to bury herself in books while hidden in her closet, because she was still looking for the perfect story and the last honest man. Her search took her around the world with the Air Force as well as around the world with her education. She’s visited more countries than she can remember, nearly every state in the U.S., and has more degrees than the Tin Man.
As a single mom, she’s still gambling, betting on herself for the first time in her life, turning her lifelong love of storytelling into the one thing she can’t live without: writing. She writes 10,000 words a week in cafes and coffee shops, and some of those 10,000 words are even worth reading. She has an MA in Creative Writing, is working towards her Master of Fine Arts, and has three jobs, two kids, a Pushcart Nomination, more pets than she can possibly handle, and more works in progress than the crew filling potholes after a long Colorado winter.

I love it when my author friends stop by my blog to introduce a new project, but today is extra special! One of my dearest friends, Claire Yezbak Fadden, has just released her debut novel – A CORNER OF HER HEART! I am so excited! Please join me in congratulating Claire!
In celebration of her new release, Claire has a gift card giveaway going on! See below for details. In the meantime, check out this sneak peek from A CORNER OF HER HEART.
Genre: Women’s Fiction
About the Book:
Monica Morgan finally lands the job she covets—stay-at-home mom to her four sons. Her joy is short-lived, however, when a casual comment leads to the discovery of her husband’s infidelity. The news sends her reeling, grasping for understanding and skeptical of everything she once thought she knew. While she struggles with the deceit and questions her faith, her youngest child receives a devastating diagnosis, plunging her into deeper despair.
Unsure of how to move forward, Monica must reevaluate her options and determine what truly matters most. But will her decision ultimately destroy her family or will it make them whole again?
Monica lifted her head from the pillow. That was a mistake. Why did I order that third pitcher? Her head, heavier than a bowling ball, pounded as though she had used it to throw a strike. Voices seeped through her bedroom door. Joyful sounds of Brad and the boys playing. She licked her lips, hoping to get the saliva moving. No luck. Cotton balls would fall from her mouth at any moment.
She didn’t remember much after Kate brought her home, except Brad holding her hair while she hugged the toilet. Tequila is not my friend.
Monica forced herself up and reached for a water bottle Brad had left on her nightstand. She slowly sipped, listening to what sounded like bodies bouncing off the walls. Definitely a sock war was underway. Monica would find her sons’ socks, now rolled up into balls as ammunition, for days. Guys could make a game out of anything.
She gingerly placed her feet on the carpet and ambled toward the family room. A cobalt-colored orb Monica recognized as part of Burke’s soccer uniform flew past her nose.
“Mom,” nine-year-old Burke shouted, “get back, you’re in the battle zone.”
“Cease fire.” Brad appeared from behind a chair and waved his arms. “Hi honey. Feeling better?”
“A little. What time is it?”
“About three,” Brady answered, stepping in from the hallway, “Dad kept us quiet all morning.”
“I asked to play sock war,” Bodie said, his voice barely higher than a peep. “Dad and me are a team.”
Monica moved to where Bodie sat and joined him on the couch. “Are you winning?”
“I think so,” Bodie replied, pointing to an arsenal of socks.
These moments made Monica’s life. Her sons enjoying each other, laughter rising throughout her home. Getting drunk last night was an escape, but she couldn’t escape her obligations. She didn’t want to. God blessed her with four sons to love and guide into manhood.
She soaked in their faces, sweaty and innocent. How could she steal this life from them? Monica would never forget what Brad had done. Still, she had to find a way to forgive him and make their family whole again. Her sons’ childhood depended on that.

It’s always a pleasure having my author friends on my blog and today is no different! Author Sheryl Lister is on a blog tour with Write Now Literary Book Tours introducing her pre-release of PLACES IN MY HEART. Sheryl is currently doing a Pre-order Blitz and Contest that starts today! But more about the contest later. First, check out a sneak peek of PLACES IN MY HEART.
Omar Drummond is a pro football superstar with a body that’s a pure work of art. But Morgan Gray is forbidden to act on their chemistry, or repeat their impulsive kiss. Proving her worth as a sports agent means securing the notorious celebrity as a client, not a lover. Yet between flowers, sweet notes and heady hotel interludes, Omar is shamelessly seducing her…
Other agents—and exes—have tried using Omar as a meal ticket, and he’s closed himself off from emotional entanglements. With Morgan, it’s a whole new playbook. Smart and tough, she can negotiate a contract and turn him on all in one go, and he craves more. But in matters of trust, he’s just fumbled badly. To win her he has to show her the man he can be away from the field and the limelight, and hope that this time they’re both playing for keeps.
Omar knew he had taken a risk showing up at Morgan’s office, but he was desperate. It had taken a lot to persuade Malcolm to share his sister’s information, especially since Omar had declined to say what had happened between them. He toyed with calling first, but changed his mind because he didn’t want to chance her refusing to see him. The woman seated outside Morgan’s office, whom he assumed was the assistant, greeted him with a wide smile and an exaggerated sway of her hips as she led him to the office. Omar ignored the not-so-subtle brush of her breasts against his arm when she turned to leave. In his peripheral vision, he noticed the slight rise in Morgan’s eyebrow and knew she’d seen it, too. He waited until the woman closed the door before turning to face Morgan.
Morgan folded her arms. “What are you doing here?”
“Hello to you, too,” he said.
An embarrassed expression crossed her face. “Sorry. Have a seat.”
Omar took the chair opposite her desk. “I apologize for stopping by without calling, but I figured you wouldn’t see me otherwise.”
“You were probably right. How do you know I won’t call security to throw you out now?”
“I don’t, but I’m counting on your love of football to work in my favor.” They engaged in a stare-down for several seconds until she looked away first.
“How did you know where I worked?”
“Malcolm.” She frowned and he added, “If it’s any consolation, he adamantly refused to divulge your home address.”
“Well, maybe I won’t kill him, after all.”
“Since you went through all this trouble, I guess I can spare you five minutes.”
Omar knew the mention of football would rouse her curiosity. “I’d like to talk to you about a business proposition.”
“What does that have to do with football?”
“My contract is up for renewal in six weeks and—”
“Don’t you have an agent? If memory serves me correctly, you have one of the best agents around.”
“Things aren’t always as they seem.”
She sat up straight. “What are you saying?”
“I’m saying it’s time for a change, and I’d like you to negotiate my upcoming contract. You’re an attorney and, according to your brother, you know football like you’ve played it all your life.”
Her eyes lit up and her mouth fell open. “Are you serious? Wait a minute.” She sat back again and angled her head. “What about your current agent? Did he dump you or something?”
Omar sighed. “No.” There was more to it, but he would only tell her if she agreed to represent him.
Morgan narrowed her eyes. “There are dozens of sports agents out there, and I’m certain any one of them would be happy to take you on, especially with your numbers from last year. Yet you’re in my office.”
He smiled. “You checked my stats? So, you’re admitting I’ve got game?”
A rush of color darkened her face. “Why me?” she asked, ignoring his questions.
“You want to be an agent, and I need one.” He leaned forward and whispered, “And I know you passed the sport’s agent certification test. It’s a win-win situation for both of us.”
“On second thought, I am going to kill Malcolm,” she muttered.
“I need your help, Morgan. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t.”
“I have to think about this.” She turned slightly in her chair and stared out the window, and then back at him. “You realize I already have a job. And I’m working on a case.”
Omar nodded. “I understand, and I have no problems working around your schedule.”
“Even on weekends or late evenings.”
“I see.” She went back to staring out the window.
He could almost hear the wheels turning in her head. She bit down on her lip, drawing his attention and reminding him how much he enjoyed kissing her.
Finally she angled her head his direction. “I’ll agree on one condition.”
“You keep your hands and lips to yourself. No more kisses.”
Omar groaned inwardly. There was no way he could go without kissing her. In fact, it had been the first thing on his mind from the moment he saw her today. “Morgan—”
“No. More. Kisses,” she repeated.

The lake twinkled in the wake of the sinking sun. A large swatch of blue sky and white clouds hovered just above the water, and the pine trees surrounding the lake gave it a private, exclusive feel. Not for the rich, but for lovers only.
Melanie imagined long summer days and hot summer nights wrapped in Damien’s arms. One day. Soon.
Towels in hand, Melanie and Damien stood on the pier, peering into the dark-blue water.
She leaned against the wood railing. “You go in first.” She waved to the lake. “Tell me how it is.”
“Nope. We’re jumping in together.”
“No, no. I may have been a bit hasty in my enthusiasm. The temperature is starting to drop.”
He crossed his arms. “If you’re afraid of getting too cold or too wet, don’t worry … I’ll keep you warm,” he said in a voice that was smooth, provocative, and far too dangerous.
Her stomach clenched at innuendo he probably didn’t realize he’d made.
Melanie dropped the towel near her feet. “I just want you to test the waters and tell me how it is.”
He shook his head again.
“Fine.” She raised a brow, knowing he would have to comply with their rule when they couldn’t agree on something. “Rock, paper, scissors.”
Damien chuckled and lifted his fist above his palm. “Fine.”
They stared at each other for a moment, then grinned. “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!” they both shouted.
Melanie squeezed her fist, choosing rock, and scowled when she saw Damien’s hand flat against his other.
“Paper covers rock.” Stating the obvious, he jerked his head toward the lake. “Ladies first.”
“Best two out of three?”
“Suuuure, Melanie,” he said in a saccharine voice. She knew he would give her shit about this later, but she didn’t care. She wasn’t getting in that cold water first.
“Rock, paper, scissors, shoot!”
She pumped her fist in the air when her rock beat Damien’s scissors.
“This is for the championship. The World Series. The Super Bowl. The—”
“Quit stalling and go already,” Damien’s deep voice interrupted.
“All right. All right. Hold your horses, D.” They stared at each other, as if they could guess what the other would choose, and played again.
Her paper beat his rock.
“Yes! I’m the winner.” She danced around him, celebrating her victory. “I just kicked your—ahh!” she screamed.
Damien had scooped her into his muscular arms and smiled. “Like I said, we’re jumping in together.”
Melanie was too shocked to protest as he casually stepped off the edge of the pier and heaved them both into the water.
She broke above the surface and took a gulp of breath to clear her lungs. Damien’s hands curled around her ankle.
“No you don’t!” She yanked her leg away, dipped under the water, and pretended to go for his manhood.
Damien rushed above the water, his chest heaving. “Damn, Mel. You never play fair.”
“I play to win. You taught me that.” She grinned and swam closer to him.
Tendrils of water dripped from his chiseled face to his immaculate chest, daring her to trace the trail with her tongue.
Despite the dwindling light, Damien’s eyes shone like the North Star. Staring in his eyes, she’d never be lost.
The vein in his neck throbbed, and her mouth went dry. She was parched, from years and years of being near the well of deep, cool water that was Damien, yet never having the chance to quench her thirst. And if she had the chance, she wouldn’t sip. She would gulp him all the way down until she felt it in her belly.

It’s official – release day for SEDUCING THE BOSS LADY!
If you have read the first four books in the Jenkins Family Series, then I’m sure you remember Peyton Jenkins. She’s the oldest of the Jenkins’ girls, as well as an electrician and the senior manager of Jenkins & Sons Construction. Over the last couple of years, Peyton has stood by and watched her sister and cousins find the loves of their lives. Now it’s her turn. When Peyton first meets Michael Cutter, it’s not exactly love at first sight, but Michael is not a man who can be easily ignored.
Here’s their story.
Master electrician, Peyton Jenkins, is tired of being the responsible Jenkins’ girl. She’s ready to hand over the reins of the family business for a chance to live life and find love. However, fear of getting hurt again keeps her from letting down her guard. That is until her world intersects with bad-boy, Michael Cutter. Their sparks ignite a passion that can’t be denied.
Private investigator, Michael Cutter, has no intention of falling for another pretty face, not even someone as beautiful as Peyton. But her smokin’ hot body and sass can’t be ignored. She desires love and commitment, yet the sins of his father continue to haunt Michael, deterring him from pursuing any type of relationship other than a casual fling.
Will their pasts keep them from taking a chance on love? And will love be enough to heal old wounds?
Minutes later, Michael handed Peyton the whipped cream and strawberries while he climbed the stairs with her luggage. He couldn’t wait to get her naked and into his bed, and not necessarily in that order.
Michael guided her down the hallway to his bedroom and pushed open the door. Setting her bags inside the room, he flipped the two switches against the wall. One bathed the room with dim lighting from the bedside table lamps. The other controlled the room’s audio system. The sound of Boney James melodic saxophone flowed softly around the room through the hidden speakers in the ceiling.
“Come on in and make yourself comfortable.”
Peyton set the props next to the lamp on the bedside table, closest to the door, and slowly glanced around the space. “This room is huge. Ohhh and you have a fireplace. I’ve always wanted one in my bedroom.” The awe in her voice had him sticking his chest out more, glad that she liked the space that was probably more masculine than she was accustomed to. His large, king sized bed made of a dark cherry wood, took up much of the space. A small reading area, comprised of his favorite wide chair and a round table, sat near the fireplace.
“I’ll get us a fire going and warm it up in here,” Michael said when Peyton stepped away from the fireplace and roamed around the bedroom, studying the artwork he had on the walls. Michael bent to place a log in the fireplace.
A slight tremble of his hands when he added the log, had him chuckling to himself. This was the first time he’d ever brought a woman to his home, and never had one shared his bed. Not even Octavia. He preferred to go to a woman’s place not only because of Michaela but because he didn’t want any woman getting too comfortable in his space. But Peyton wasn’t just any woman. He knew there was something special about her from the moment they met.
Michael pulled the flimsy fireplace screen together and stood. “If you want, you ca…” His words lodged inside of his throat when he turned to find Peyton stretched out on his bed in the skimpiest bra and panty set he’d ever seen on a woman.
“You said to make myself comfortable.” The sexy purr of her voice had him lifting his T-shirt over his head and tossing it to the floor.
“I did, didn’t I?”

It’s official – release day for MODEL ATTRACTION!
You might remember the main character, Janna Morgan, from two of my previous books. She’s the youngest sister of Iris Sinclair-Dupree (from LEGAL SEDUCTION) and Macy Carter-Logan (from A DOSE OF PASSION). Well, I heard from many of you after you read A Dose of Passion, wondering what was going on with Janna and what did Austin Reynolds have to do with her odd behavior. Well, here’s your chance to find out! Model Attraction is Janna and Austin’s story.
Desire is more than skin deep…
When an international modeling opportunity called, Janna Morgan answered. The past nine years have brought her fame, fortune and supermodel status but they haven’t lessened her regret at leaving her high school sweetheart behind. A chance encounter proves that Austin Reynolds definitely hasn’t forgiven her. But it also becomes clear that some flames just grow hotter with time…
The handsome real estate mogul has one broken engagement on his résumé, but Janna was the only one to ever steal his heart. Their incredible connection reignites an undeniable passion in them both, and workaholic Austin rediscovers his lighter side. But soon another can’t-refuse offer beckons Janna overseas. Will it be déjà vu…or is there love finally ready for the spotlight?
She turned, and before Austin could form his next thought, she stepped in front of him. Her hands rested on his chest, and her mouth covered his.
Sweet. Soft. Potent. Her kiss was everything he remembered. All rational thought fled his mind and, as if on autopilot, one of his hands went to the back of her neck, the other to the small of her back. He pulled her against his body and his tongue explored the inner recesses of her mouth, tasting champagne. How many times had he dreamed of touching her, holding her, kissing her?
She moaned into his mouth, spurring him to deepen their kiss. The heady scent of her perfume was even more captivating now that her body was molded against his. Her arms eased around his waist, stoking the fire the kiss had started. She still fit perfectly in his arms.
Some sane part of his mind screamed, Danger! Stop and slowly back away. He couldn’t. He couldn’t stop the heat that soared through his body as their tongues tangled. He couldn’t stop the desire that singed every nerve ending, making him want so much more than a kiss. He couldn’t stop the possessive thought—mine—that floated to the forefront of his mind.
He knew at that moment that he would never really be free of her. She would always hold a part of his heart.
Janna’s heartbeat thumped faster when Austin’s large hands moved from her body and cupped her face. She might have started the kiss, but with the demanding mastery of his lips, he had quickly taken charge. His fresh, clean scent was more potent than the alcohol on his tongue.
That peace she’d always felt in his presence settled over her like a soft silk-wool sweater. God, she had missed him. His closeness, his warmth and his hands on her felt so familiar. Like old times.
She heard herself moan.
His body stiffened.
Her heart lurched, and the wistful murmurs from people nearby penetrated the fog in her head caused by the toe-curling kiss. The last thing she wanted to do was open her eyes, but then she heard what sounded like a camera.
Her eyes flew open.
If Austin had hated her before, the scathing look in his dark eyes now said that he was beyond angry.
“Let’s go,” he growled under his breath and held her elbow, guiding them through the small crowd that had gathered. He pulled her along, using his large body to block their faces from any additional photographs, and didn’t stop moving until they were outside. “What the hell was that all about?”
“Austin, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t think—”
“Yeah, that’s the problem, Janna. You never think about how your actions are going to affect someone else. You’re still the selfish, careless, impulsive person you were years ago.”
Fury rumbled inside her and she placed her hands on her hips, stepping closer to him.
“Now, you wait just a minute! You have every right to be mad at me for kissing you, but I will not stand here and let you call me names. You don’t know me!”
“And whose fault is that?”
Janna stared at him. Hurt flickered in his eyes, but disappeared so quickly she thought she might have imagined it. Guilt churned in her gut. He wasn’t only talking about tonight. Tension bounced off him like heat from a roaring fire as she struggled for the right words to say. So many times she had imagined what she would say to him when she had a chance to apologize. Yet nothing seemed to be good enough.
“No, you listen. I don’t know what that kiss was all about back there, but count me out of any games that you’re playing. You gave up your rights to kiss me on a whim years ago. Now stay the hell away from me.”

A prescription for sweet satisfaction…
Pediatrician Macy Carter has been so busy expanding her practice she’s had no time to build the family she craves. Her late, much-loved surrogate father apparently had some matchmaking in mind when he arranged for a sexy architect to take over his home and company. Too bad Derek is a single dad who’s been there, done that, and intends to remain unattached. Their priorities are totally out of sync. Their chemistry? Unbelievably potent.
Thanks to his former mentor, Derek Logan just inherited an architectural business, a house and the gorgeous client next door. He’s keeping away from forever relationships, but this doctor’s sensual touch is addictive. Helping Macy build her dream medical complex awakens Derek to how much more he now wants out of life. But has he hesitated too long to prove he’s ready for and deserving of her love?
“What time is the car supposed to be here?” Macy asked from the hotel bathroom where she was standing in a pink bra and panty set, putting on her makeup. Derek’s suggestion to spend the night at the hotel after the awards banquet had been a great idea. After enjoying food, drinks and dancing late into the night, all she had wanted to do was find the nearest bed and fall asleep. Of course, Derek had other plans.
A smile spread across her lips as she recalled their private celebration. Two dozen roses, huge, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne were waiting for her when they made it up to their hotel suite. Derek always made her feel special, but last night had been different. The way his seductive gaze caressed her throughout the evening had her body yearning for his touch. Her heart swelled just thinking about how he had thoroughly worshipped every inch of her body as they made love until the wee hours of the morning.
“The car will be here in about an hour,” Derek said, interrupting her thoughts. She lowered the mascara wand and glanced at him over her shoulder as he leaned against the doorjamb. He stood there with his dress shirt hanging open, revealing his muscular chest and rock-hard abs. His pants were zipped, but he hadn’t fastened them, nor had he buckled his belt, causing them to hang low on his hips. The man’s body was absolute perfection.
Her pulse quickened when the corner of his lips lifted into a flirtatious smile. “I was thinking we could grab lunch before heading home, but then again, the way you’re undressing me with your eyes, maybe you have something else in mind.”
